The Vampire Prince,
Book Six of the Darren Shan Saga
Written by Darren Shan

The Vampire Prince starts off where Darren sees his friend Gavner get killed by Kurda. Kurda
then tries to kills Darren but fails to do so because, Darren falls down into a whirlpool and lands
at the base of Vampire Mountain. At the base he is greeted by a pack of wolves who adopt him
and nurse him back to health. Since Darren is only half vampire he can’t trace his scent back up
the mountain so his wolf friends help him back up it so Darren can turn Kurda in. Kurda is
planning on using the Stone of Blood to hunt down vampires and kill them to help the rising clan
of vampaneze. When Kurda is put on trial, will Darren make a fool of himself and try to save a
friend he called to trial or will he get revenge for Gavner? Read the book to find out!

I think my favorite part is when Darren has to sneak back up the mountain so he doesn’t awaken
the vampaneze hiding in the tunnels. The worst part is when many people get killed at the battle,
but I’m not going to tell you about that. I think I can relate to the wolf pack because I help people
and take care of people. I think I would change the ending, with it ending differently with Kurda.

I would recommend this book to some of my friends but not all. I think people who like horror,
vampires, and scary novels should read this. People who should not read this are people who hate
blood, guts and gore.
